Tom and Sally's Cheshire Wedding
I made the short trip from Shropshire to south Cheshire for Tom and Sally’s wedding and I had the opportunity to meet up with the boys before they went for pre wedding lunch and drinks. It was really relaxed and good fun and there was lots (and lots) of banter and even a little emergency sewing!
I followed them to the nearby (well it should of been nearby but there were road closures and a huge diversion) Cholmondeley Arms and captured a few candid shots before I left to meet up with Sally and the girls.
The Preparations
The venue for the wedding was stunning and the gardens had become home to a lovely marquee. It was a hive of activity when I arrived both inside the house and outside in the gardens as the finishing touches were being made. Sally and the girls were having their hair and makeup applied and there were just so many lovely natural moments happening all around me - the light was great too!
The Ceremony
It was still dry when I arrived at the church in Tarvin but moments later the heavens opened just in time for Sally’s arrival and she had a mad dash to the door under a combination of coats and umbrellas!
The ceremony was lovely and there were lots of little glances and giggles between the bride and groom and I think I spotted a few tears amongst the wedding guests.
Luckily, when Tom and Sally exited the church as husband and wife, the rain had stopped and what can only be described as the most colourful and aggressive confetti shower followed! Guests lined the path armed with large handfuls of confetti and launched it in the direction of the newlyweds - It made some great shots and was perfect for my style of documentary wedding photography!
The Reception
Back at the venue drinks were served and Tom and Sally mingled with family and guests and I did exactly the same, capturing the fun as it happened. It was obvious, even at that stage that everyone was in the mood for a party!
The Dance off
And that’s exactly what happened… After the speeches had ended and the sun had set, the party started! After Tom and Sally’s first dance (which was great), friends and family didn’t need any encouragement to throw some shapes on the dance floor! Words simply cannot describe the impromptu dance off between the boys… ‘epic’ perhaps gets close!
