Staffordshire Country Wedding
Ross and Victoria's wedding was a lovely summer wedding in Staffordshire on the Shropshire border.
My day began photographing the fun and laughter of the bridal preparations before heading to the ceremony at the nearby parish church of St. Editha in Church Eaton, Staffordshire.
The marriage ceremony presented some lovely moments for me to capture the little glances between bride and groom. I love this part of the day and it especially suits my documentary style of wedding photography. I'm able to draw on all of my skills gained working as a news photographer, photographing the little magical moments that you simply can't recreate, whilst still working as discreetly as possible during the ceremony.
There was a great send off from the church as family and friends celebrated outside the church as Ross and Victoria hopped aboard a horse drawn carriage for the five mile trip to the venue. I decided to park up in the village of Wheaton Aston to capture the newlyweds en route.
The location for the rest of the wedding was a beautiful marquee in the heart of the South Staffordshire countryside and as everyone relaxed in the sunshine sipping their drinks on arrival, I had great fun candidly photographing Ross and Victoria as they chatted to their friends and family.
As the last guests headed inside for the wedding breakfast, the speeches and the party late into the night, the heavens opened and the torrential rain arrived, thankfully waiting until the wedding party had all moved indoors!
